Test Description and Average Scores

Test scores are calculated by accuracy/speed. For example, a score of 5/56 = 5 errors at 56 words per minute for typing, or 5 errors at 56 keystrokes per minute for DET and 10-Key.

|
SAT: Speed and accuracy typing test. Designed to provide a quick and accurate evaluation of typing ability. Average score 35 to 49.

|
|
DET: Data entry skills test. Measures the ability to enter a mix of text and numbers. Average score 60 to 99.
|
|
|
10-Key: Measures the ability to enter straight numeric data. Average score 80 to 199.
|
|
|
EDT: Error detection test. Provides an accurate assessment of the ability to detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. Perfect score is 40. We consider in the 30s excellent.

|
Business Letter: Tests the knowledge they have on a particular program.
|
|
|
Excel Spreadsheet: The applicant is asked to make and format a spreadsheet to compute gross and net pay and to show the formulas.
|
|
|
Quick Books Pro: This is a computer generated hands-on test that measures an applicant's knowledge of Quick Books. The results are given in percentage correct.
